Im nördlichen Spanien – im Südosten der Provinz Navarra – erstreckt sich ein einzigartiger fast 42.000 Hektar großer Naturpark, die Bardenas Reales.
Zu einem großen Teil handelt es sich dabei um eine Halbwüste, deren Gelände aus Kreide- und Tongestein von sintflutartigen Regenfällen geformt wurde. Weite Ebenen wechseln sich ab mit Schluchten, Steilhängen und Hügeln, die Höhen von bis zu 600 m erreichen. Die so genannte Bardena Blanca umfasst die weißesten Landschaftsteile, die aus Gipssubstrat und einer Steppenvegetation bestehen.
Meine analogen Aufnahmen in einem kleinen Teil der Bardena Blanca entstanden an einem Vorfrühlingstag mit ganz besonderem Licht.

Much of this is semi-desert, its chalky and clayey terrain sculpted by torrential rains. Wide plains alternate with gorges, steep slopes and hills that reach heights of up to 600 m. The so-called Bardena Blanca includes the whitest parts of the landscape, which consist of gypsum substrate and steppe vegetation.
